Athlete Profile- Sandi Taylor

Age Group:
50-54

2011 Endurance goals:
Continue to improve my cadence and learn to swim on top of the water with grace.

Why did you choose this sport?
Being a spectator watching all the people swim, bike and run inspired me to train for my first 1/2 marathon.

Most enjoyable part of your sport?

Camaraderie with all the other runners.

Greatest accomplishment so far?

sub 2 half marathon

Favorite gadget?

Foot pod- lets me know every mile I have accomplished.

Favorite post-race meal?
3 B's- bagel, banana and beer

Dream race?

Wow good question. Southwest Florida is really hard to beat. I would have to pick Hawaii.

Running has changed Sandi's life.  She has gone from a 5K finisher to a rockstar 'Sub2 half-marathoner.'  She continues to impress with her move into duathlon events, and with the addition of a new Trek Madone and an already stellar run- she will be dominating in no time! Keep up the good work Sandi!

Athlete Profile- Brian White

Age Group:
40-44

2011 Endurance goals:

To complete a mountain century.

Why did you choose this sport?

I've always loved being outdoors on a bike.

Most enjoyable part of your sport?

Being outdoors.

Greatest accomplishment so far?

225 mile bike ride across the state of Florida in two days with my buddy Nick.
Also lost about 15 lbs thanks to Nicole's workouts and diet guidance.

Favorite gadget?

Don't have any besides a HRM but may get a power meter soon (you know me, don't even have a smart phone).

Favorite post-race meal?

Anything as long as it goes well with beer.

Dream race?

Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race

It has been amazing to see Brian transform not only physically but also mentally.  He used to be the 'cheeseburger and fries guy.'  Now he is the 'Wholefoods-dressing-on-side-guy.' We couldn't be more proud of his efforts.
He has some hefty endurance goals and we can't wait to see him accomplish them!

Athlete Profile- Mary Rodriguez

Age Group:
40-44

2011 Endurance goals:
Run the Space Coast Half Marathon in November.  Improve running speed.  Run consistently under 10 min miles.

Why did you choose this sport?
Not sure, I have always run just never this far for such a long period of time. Clark Endurance makes it fun!

Most enjoyable part of your sport?
When I reach a new goal.

Greatest accomplishment so far?
Having completed 4 half marathons in the past 2 years each one with a better time.

Favorite gadget?
My garmin watch.  I am all about the numbers!

Favorite post-race meal?
Haven't found one yet.  I usually feel so crappy after a race that nothing feels great.  That should be my goal, to enjoy the race and really enjoy the post race meal.

Dream race?

One where I finish and feel great!

Mary has accomplished some amazing goals over the past two years, and we are excited to see her continue to grow.... and maybe even shoot for that marathon!

Athlete Profile- Susan Meyers

Age Group:
35-39

2011 Endurance goals:
Space Coast Half Marathon, sub-1:50
Savannah Half/Full Marathon

Why did you choose this sport?
When I was about 27, I made a list of 30 things to do before turning 30.  One of those things was running a marathon.  I ran Disney in 2004 using the Galloway method and was hooked.

Most enjoyable part of your sport?
The post-run food.  ;). Feeling of accomplishment.  Time not as "jack and brooke's mom"

Greatest accomplishment so far?
Probably NYC less than 11 months after having a baby.  At the time, it was a PR.

Favorite gadget?
My iPod

Favorite post-race meal?
Chocolate milk.  After a few hours, burger and fries.

Dream race?

Boston. But only if I qualify.

Susan is one of CETs rockstar runners who has multiple PRs this year and will continue to impress in 2011!

Athlete Profile- Corey McClelland

Age Group:
30-34

2011 Endurance goals:
I'd like to go sub 11 hours at Ironman Arizona.

Why did you choose this sport?
I'd been cycling for several years and had made several attempts at running when my brother convinced me that triathlon was the way to go.   It gave me goals to plan around and that really helped me stay focussed on my training.

Most enjoyable part of your sport?
I never get bored with it.  If I start getting tired of running, I focus more on the bike or the swim.  There's always something to work on that you haven't done in a while.

Greatest accomplishment so far?
My first sprint triathlon at Siesta Beach.  These days that distance is less than a normal training day, but back then it was a real milestone moving from just talking about it to doing it.

Favorite gadget?
My computrainer.  It really showed me that I wasn't pushing hard enough on the bike.  I'd highly recommend one to anyone that wants to seriously improve their bike times.

Favorite post-race meal?
Lasagna.   Unsurprisingly, this is also my favorite pre-race meal!

Dream race?
Who doesn't want to race Kona someday?  That's a challenge I'm looking forward to!

Corey has been with Clark Endurance since July of 2010 and is currently training for Ironman 70.3 Florida and Ironman Arizona.
